Change for the better

Weight loss is hard. It has probably been one of the biggest obstacles in my life. I feel like even when I have everything else conquered, my weight has always been the one thing I cannot get a hold of. But it has changed. About two months ago, I decided that I was going to make a change in my lifestyle. Food should not, cannot, and WILL NOT control me. I have too many goals to let my weight and my emotional eating hold me back from feeling great about myself. So, I wanted to create a blog to track my progress and hopefully inspire some change in others, as well. If I could give one tip as one of the most important things I have learned through this journey is in order to have success in weight loss, you need accountability. If you tell everyone who will listen that you are trying to lose weight, you suddenly have an incredible amount of accountability and this is the motivator for much of the hard work to melt the fat and recreate yourself. My weight loss really started January 2012 and I dropped about 35lbs. for the months following. However, I got off track and gained some of it back over the summer. Now that I am back on track, I have lost about 20 lbs. more and in all, I have lost about 45lbs. since January 2012. I plan to make it a lifestyle change this time and keep it off forever. It takes control in what I eat, dedication in exercise, and a drive that won't quit. I still have a long way to go but it's nice to know that it works if you work it! I am more motivated than ever to reach my dream goal and stay there. Thank you to all my wonderful family and friends for the support and love that keeps me going!

Pounds to go: about 20-25 lbs.
