In the back yard of my grandmother's house, there's a garage with a huge room upstairs. We would always call it the "outhouse," and later changed its nickname to "The Studio," because of obvious reasons. Growing up, it was always filled with a bunch of junk, but my dad would tell me stories of how they used to host awesome parties in it. So, when I was a sophomore in high school, I decided I wanted to have a party there, myself. I spent an entire spring break, with the help of some of my friends, cleaning out this room. Upon completion, it was really amazing to see. High, red ceilings, wood floors, and cool looking light fixtures are just some of the things that made it so cool.
We cleaned and perfected this party space until it was time to create something awesome. I made invitations and coordinated with my best friend to plan our combined Sweet Sixteen party. I used typical Party City decorations, but added a couple touches of my own. We had dinner outside and then moved into the studio later for a huge dance party. This party was definitely a highlight in my teenage life, and I continue to look back on it and the wonderful memories that it brought.
