Back on Track!

Like any college student, I was stoked to go home for winter break. However, my excitement came from a different place than most. I have been working hard since September to reshape my diet, lifestyle, and body, and I was eager to see the way my family and friends would respond at home. I was greeted with so much support and love, more than I had imagined. I was back at home for three and a half weeks and loved every second of it. I realized how supportive everyone is and really gained the motivation I need to remain strong and steadfast in my weight loss mission.
Honestly, I did let myself go a little for the holidays because I had been working so hard and that was okay. I did continue to work out at home, but did not count every calorie I ate or when I had meals. It felt great to be home, but I am also happy to be back at school and back into the structured life that my personality craves.
After four days of being back at school, I have lost the three pounds I gained at home, plus one more. So in total, this week, I have lost four pounds so far. This may seem like too much too fast, however when you are detoxing from a hiatus from your diet, it is not uncommon to see fast weight loss at first. This is what most people call losing water weight. My body is getting rid of any toxins that might have formed while I was not on a strict diet and is cleansing and preparing for more weight loss.
I am so motivated to continue until I have reached my goal. When I was home, I had many people ask me exactly what that goal is. In reality, my goal is always changing. I think it is wise to start with smaller, more manageable goals and then once you reach each one, add more. I have reached three of my goals so far. My most recent goal completed was to finally be at a healthy BMI. In November 2011, I was at my heaviest and in terms of BMI, I was at an obese level. I have pretty much always been at the overweight level, but as of my current height and weight, I am finally at a normal BMI and can't even describe how good that feels. My next goal is to be the weight that is on my driver's license, since it has been a lie ever since I got it when I was 16! I am not sure what my final and satisfactory weight will be like or look like, but I will keep updated about what it is and when I am ready to stop losing weight, and just maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle.
Here are some updated pictures of the progress I have made and the completely changed young adult that I am.
